TNT eyes Jon Bernthal for 'Noir' pilot

Scott Free taps VPs, prod'n and development

Ridley and Tony Scott's Scott Free Prods. banner has announced several new hires and key promotions in its film division. Elishia Holmes and Adam Kassan have joined the company as VP's of production and development, while Maresa Pullman has been upped to VP of production. Additionally, Amal Baggar has been upped to creative exec. All four will report to Scott Free film prexy Michael Costigan. Holmes, who most recently served as VP of development at GK Films, previously served as production exec at Warner Bros., where she worked on such films as "Sherlock Holmes," "The Dark Knight" and "Crazy, Stupid, Love," and was key in setting up and shepherding "The Book of Eli." Prior to her four years at WB, Holmes worked as a story editor at Walter Parkes and Laurie McDonald's shingle Parkes-MacDonald. Kassan joins Scott Free from Le Grisbi Prods., where he was partner alongside producer John Lesher. While at Le Grisbi, Kassan served as exec producer on David Ayer's Jake Gyllenhaal-starrer "End of Watch." Kassan began his career at Miramax Films and previously served as VP of production at Paramount, where he was involved with such projects as "There Will Be Blood," "No Country for Old Men" and "Star Trek." Pullman started her career at the William Agency and has been at Scott Free since 2005. She was promoted to director of development and production in 2007 and served as the executive in charge of production on several pics including Jake Scott's "Welcome to the Rileys" and "Cyrus." Pullman is currently overseeing Jordan Scott's upcoming film "Peony," based on Lisa See's bestselling novel "Peony in Love." Baggar joined Scott Free from CAA in 2007 as Ridley Scott's executive assistant. During that time, she worked on "Prometheus," "Robin Hood," "Body of Lies" and "American Gangster." "We have an extraordinary team at Scott Free and with our growing slate, it became time for Maresa, who has been instrumental in our development and productions, and Amal, who has been working closely on Ridley's productions, to step into their new roles to acknowledge and further their exceptional work," said Costigan. "We are thrilled to welcome Elishia Holmes, who we first worked with at Warners and who will now work closely on our films at Fox, and Adam Kassan, whose broad range of experience with writers and filmmakers allows him at Scott Free to work with us to expand our output at Fox and on our other productions." Scott Free had four films go into production last year including Ridley Scott's "Prometheus," Park Chan-wook's "Stoker," Zal Batmanglij's "The East" and Joe Carnahan's "The Grey," which Open Road Films releases Jan. 27. In addition to a first-look deal with 20th Century Fox, which will distribute "Prometheus," Scott Free Prods. has offices in Los Angeles and London, and works closely with commericial production house RSA Films.
